It’s not just clothes on show at Graduate Fashion Week, many of the universities who are exhibiting have a range of students other designs on show.
We had a quick look around to check out what was on offer. From magazines to dolls, there are loads of great exhibitions to see. Read on to find out a bit of info about some of our favourites.

“The 1980’s animation Jem takes me directly back to childhood when all things glam and colourful would light up my world. This is where my project begins and eveolves into a journey of self-discovery through remembering and referencing personal childhood fantasies. It results in an extrovert portrayal of my childhood derived ‘alter-egos’. Not only does the subject relate to my own situation, but relates to contemporary trends within youth culture.”
Sian Jessica Roper, Fashion Promotion & Imaging: UCA
“My project is handmade dolls, which promote creatively contemporary fashion trends of spring and summer 2009. The audience is people affected by the recession but who still wish to follow the trends in fashion. I researched into fashion trends, how the recession is affecting fashion and contemporary craft. The dolls portray the current fashions, in a craft style to show the thrift shift trend. With imperfect stitching to show fragmented fashion, but that is beautiful from being handmade. Within the sketchbooks on the dressing table, is photography from a shoot in Eas London and illustration of the dolls.”

“Sprouts is like a breath of fresh air, a unique brand that encourages children and their family and friends to discover the muddy goodness of the garden. With timeless work wear in rustic denims, vintage prints and snug knits you will look the perfect part in your vegetable plot. So grab your overalls and get growing!”
Emma Woolston, Childrens Wear, Illustration & Promotion: Northumbria University.
“Charming, witty and intelligent magazine WLTM local designers, artists and musicians to fill a hole in content. Seeks a sense of humour and tongue-in-cheek personality along with a big dollop of attitude. Spends spare time attending local gigs, fashion shows and anything else that the cool kids go to. Biggest guilty pleasure is a bacon sarnie and a good cuppa. Is soft at heart yet willing to stab people in the eye with brilliant, brutal graphics.”
Joanna Pacey, HECTOR, Fashion Graphics and Styling: Northumbria University.
