River Island’s first foray into London Fashion Week took place this weekend as we teamed up with the British Fashion Council to launch FASH/ON FILM festival.
FASH/ON FILM is a new initiative created to support and develop fashion film, providing a showcasing opportunity at London Fashion Week. We introduced FASH/ON FILM to the fashion press on Friday night before hosting a movie night at The May Fair Hotel on Saturday, where we screened the London premiere of “Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Travel”, an amazing biopic on the renowned ex-Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar editor.
As part of the FASH/ON FILM festival launch, designer Julian J Smith unveiled his River Island Design Forum collection via a short film which will be screened throughout London Fashion Week. If you’re lucky enough to be at London Fashion Week this week, you can catch Julian’s Design Forum film alongside other films from the festival in the Canon Cinema at Somerset House.
